Happy Monday! It's my "Saturday".... While most "normal people" are off to work, I'm drinking some coffee and contemplating my day!
I love redoing furniture. I really love giving new life to furniture. I really really love taking a piece that most would pass up, or throw away and turn it into a beauty!
This table was an antique on my moms side of the family. I eventually inherited it from my grandparents and saw a ton of potential in it!
I started out by cleaning all the dust, cob webs and grime off of it. Then primed it with a standard spray primer, followed up by about three coats of Rust-oleum Gloss Protective Enamel in Harbor Blue. If you look at the below picture you'll see a super cute dog and also the painted table. No idea why I didn't get any "after" pictures, but this is as good as it gets!
The table was painted for about 6 months or so until yesterday when I opted to change it up. I spray painted it with two coats of Rust-oleum's Painter's Touch Ultra Coverage "Eden" then used Rust-oleum's Crystal Clear Enamel to protect the finish and I think it look a ton better!
FYI: The Rust-oleum Painter's Touch Ultra Coverage is awesome for spray painting anything, the coverage was great, I didn't have to do nearly as many coats of paint as when I spray painted it blue!! Definitely going to be my go-to spray paint for future projects!
I love the glossy finish and it's not as bright as the blue...this project was super quick and I love the difference!
So a comparison for good measure!!
This is what I started out with:
And this is the finished project:
Lovely green color! Looks modern now!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I agree with how it looks more modern and the coloring goes a lot more with our house rather then the blue!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying your blog!! This table is perfect and is that a pencil drawing done by Chad?? Good Stuff!
ReplyDeleteNope he didn't draw the picture, my mom bought it at a silent aution through Elmbrook School District, but I'm sure he could duplicate it if he wanted!
DeleteThanks!
