Lets Get This Party Started

We got the ball rolling on the PGD testing for the frozen babies (embryos).  Our blood draws are DONE.

Natera, PGD testing, blood draw, Li Fraumeni, TP53, DIY, breast cancer survivor, taking care of business

My parents are sending their cheek swab samples out in the mail and once they are received Natera can get the test put together to get our frozen babies tested in May.  We are excited and nervous to finally be at this step, I honestly didn't think I'd ever make it to this point!

When we went to get the blood draw done, my port decided to work like a clogged toilet.  Aka NOT work.  They plunged it and put in a ton of saline, but no bueno.  Needless to say I'm very relieved to be having it taken out on March 17th, and I will celebrate that feat by having a green beer after.

May can't come soon enough!

  1. I can understand you must be impatient. It is a big step forward and it will in a way determine your future. You must be so nervous... It'll be fine, it will all work out, you will see. I have faith in that :)

Is your port not out yet? Wow. Mine was taken out in December, a month or two after I finished chemo mid October 2014.

    1. Thank you Katerine!! I was going to keep it in, but enough time has passed for me where I feel comfortable enough to take it out. Plus, having it get clogged pushed the idea more for me.
